Some months ago, I was at a park with some Christians for a love feast. At some point, I left the company of people to sit alone and enjoy nature (the park has a lake with beautiful trees and birds nesting on them).

As I sat on the bench close to the lake enjoying God's creations, I began talking with the Lord about certain decisions I needed to make and how to discern His will in situations in my life.

He talked back to me and I had confirmations through the written word of God.

As we talked, He asked me a question saying "do you know my favourite name?" I replied Him with a smile saying "No Lord, I don't" and He replied me saying "My favourite name is Father"

Just after His reply, a young boy of around 5-6years ran towards where I sat and fell on the green grass, his father walked to where his son was, picked him up and carried him on his shoulders and I watched as both father and child walked and played as they went back to join the other members of the family.

Right there, I heard God say to me "Let me carry you my child"

Apostle Peter tells us to "cast ALL our burdens on Him for he cares for us."

The Lord Himself speaking to us in Matthew 6:7-8 "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

The Apostle Paul writing to us says in Gal 4:6 "And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”

We have a good good Father who went through Hell to save you and I.

When our Lord taught us to pray to God, He began with the words "Our Father"

It's possible to have a father who doesn't care nor love us but God's love for us gave birth to us. Our sonship is from a heart of love. We have a Father who tenderly loves and cares for us.

Our Heavenly Father will not with hold the rod when necessary from any of His children, but will discipline us (Not punish us) because he tenderly loves and cares for us.

Heb 12 :4-6 "In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,  and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”

The Father (God) Himself desires to have a close relationship with each and every of His children.

John 14:23 "Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them."

He is a Holy Father (God), He made us Holy (In His image and likeness) so we could fellowship with Him.

No matter what this life throws at us, we can safely rest in the arms of Our Heavenly Father who loved us and gave Himself (His beloved Son -Christ) up for us.

We can boldly say with Apostle Paul in Rom 8:38-39 "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

For us to intimately know the Father, we have to intimately Know the Son- Jesus Christ. For no one comes to the Father except through the Son.

“Where is your father?” they asked. Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my Father.” Jh 8:19

PRAYER

Heavenly Father thank you for being my good good Daddy. Thank you for loving me so much that you gave your Only Son to die in my place so that we could be family. Draw me closer to you and help me to know you more intimately through the help of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. Amen.
