Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colo 1:13

We were born into the kingdom of darkness due to Adam's sin. That was the kingdom we knew and were under the Satan's reign and rule. We were dead in our sins. The Devil was our master and lord. We were in his chains and his prisoners. He did to us anything he wanted to do- all he did and does is wickedness. That's his nature anyways.

But God rich in mercy sent His only begotten Son- Christ to die and take on Himself the wrath we deserved due to our sin. Christ humbled Himself, took on human flesh, died a sinner's death, tasted death for us, went to hell disarmed Satan and set us free from the kingdom of Satan (darkness).

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colo 2: 15

He didn't just set us free and leave us hanging. He set us free and translated us to His Kingdom. Now we are forever safe in Him and with Him. God has also made us co-heirs with Christ. We are in His Kingdom not as salves but as children. Aren't we so blessed?

"and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." Rom 8:17

Jospeh M. Stowell wrote in his book 'Eternity' "we assume that one day, we realised our bondage to sin and sought a saviour, as though we had done the good deed. We enjoy the privileges of His Kingdom with little sense of gratitude and no thought of indebtedness to Him"

Pastor Joshua Ojo adds " we didn't even have sense to know we needed a saviour"

Listen to what Apostle Paul tells us in Eph 2:1 "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins," We were DEAD in our sins, hopeless, dirty, poor, ugly, smelling, nothing in and about us made you and I desirable to Him. But Christ loved us enough to die in our place, rescue us from our wicked master and make us His very own. Oh how He loves us!

Now we are no longer clothed in sin but He has clothed us in righteousness. He has washed us in His blood and made us beautiful in His sight. He sees you and I as beautiful.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. Isa 61:10

He laid down His life for you and I so we could have life now and in eternity. And true life is having an intimate relationship with the person of Jesus Christ.

Hear His prayer to the Father for us in John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus whom You have sent"

He is real! He desires intimacy with you and I. His heart yearns for you and I so passionately. He died to have you to Himself. He has feelings and emotions too. He tenderly loves us.

Hear what He told the religious leaders in His days and is still saying to us today “You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life. John 5:39-40

He wants more than our offerings, church service attendance, fasting and prayer meetings. He wants more than bible study or ministry. The church in Ephesus did a lot of wonderful things for Him (Rev 3:1-3) but He yearned for them to return to their first love for Him. "Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore, remember from where you have fallen and repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and will remove your lampstand out of its place...unless you repent." Rev 2:20-21

He wants you. He yearns for you. This man called Jesus Christ is madly in love with you.

Hear what He says in Rev 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

He is a perfect gentleman, He would not force Himself on you. He is knocking on the door of your heart so He could have an intimate relationship with you.

God (Jesus Christ) was beaten, spitted on, mocked, slapped, dragged, naked, thirsty, cried in pain, was cold, endured shame and finally died of a ruptured heart just to be close and intimate with you. He isn't ashamed to call us His own. He is so proud to identify with you.

I still don't understand His reckless love for me but am thankful to Him for loving a sinner like me and yearning for intimacy with me. His love for me amazes me. My worth comes from this truth that I am so loved by Jesus Christ.

I can't boast of my love for this man called Jesus but I can forever boast of His reckless love for me. I know without a shadow of doubt that Jesus Christ loves Emmanuella Eki not for anything I have done or will do He just loves me. This fills me with joy. My heart leaps at this truth.

He rejoices over you and I. He sings over us. He is such a beautiful lover. He is love personified. Remember what He says in Zec 2:8 "For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye." We are the apple of His eye.

We are appealing to Him. He fought for us while we were His worst enemy. He was hung on a tree and was thereby cursed so you and I will be forever blessed.

Preacherman Emmanuel Oje Ehimika says "Angels fell and God cast them down. Man fell and God came running after us"

Hey! Stand tall and be proud of who you- A child of God!

The beauty of this is all you need to do is ask from your heart to be intimate with Him. And I assure you, before you are done speaking, He will come running to you with a big smile on His face.

Remember the story of the prodigal son and the Father? The Father also came running towards the son. He says in James 4:8 "Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world."

"Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." Isa 65:24

Now that we know that we have been rescued and translated to the Kingdom of Light (Christ) let's walk as children of Light through the help of the Holy Spirit. "For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth)" Eph 5:8-9

When that wicked one comes, remind Satan that you are no longer in his kingdom and he has NO legal right over you. You now belong to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ!

Lord, thank you for rescuing me from Satan's grip and giving me a new identity. Jesus, I want to know you intimately. I ask that you reveal Yourself to me each and everyday in Jesus name. Amen.

  1. Great piece to confirm what my wife told me on wednesday when l wanted to pray for direction because of my trials on my path…she held me to her body and said” the Lord wants intimacy with you and when you are close like this, He will begin to remove the first like sickness…etc. l was so glad because l knew l had gotten the answer. Now the Lord brings you to confirm the NEED for intimacy above anything else. Like l always say our work for Him must come from our walk with Him. Thank you for letting God use you to speak to your generation. Keep on writing, you may not get many replies. It’s part of the process of training you. If l didnt reply because lm busy you will never know that God used you to confirm a message to one of His servants.
