Life has its' sweet and bitter seasons. Like Solomon wrote "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:" Ecc 3:1
We don't have to be afraid when the storms of life hits us. Whatever it might be either the death of a loved one, divorce, financial issues etc. We have One who has promised to never leave nor forsake us; Jesus!
My mom departed this world to be with Jesus on 25th of July, 2018. On her second year remembrance day, while I sat on my bed with tears rolling down my eyes, the Lord said to me "I know how you feel. I was there too. Remember, I was separated from my Father on the cross. Don't worry, soon, you will have forever to catch up with her"
The Father (God) also felt the pain of separation from His son when Christ took on our sins
"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast forsaken me? Matt 27:46
After those words from my Best Friend, I cleaned my eyes and was joyful. Hear what He says about the Holy Spirit:
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" Jh 14:26
The Holy Spirit is called THE COMFORTER for a reason, to comfort us when the storms hit. He's got our back. Nothing and nobody can comfort us better than He does.
Both Father (God) and Son (Jesus Christ) know the pain of separation and decided to give us the Holy Spirit
While He walked this earth He told His disciples and is still speaking to us today saying " These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" John 16:33
He is a faithful Father, Lover and Friend... Whoever we need Him to be, He will be to us.
We don't do life alone. He never designed that we go through life without Him anyways. He desires deeply to walk, talk, laugh, comfort and play with us just like He did in the Garden of Eden with the first humans He created!
He is a perfect gentlemen! He won't step into that situation if you don't invite Him. He said " Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" Rev. 3:20
"...and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. Jh 2:2 Imagine what would have happened if the Lord wasn't invited to the wedding in Cana.
Peter admonishes us "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Pet 5:7
Note that we are not admonished to cast some cares or the big stuff on Him but ALL cares on Him because He cares for us. Nothing is too big or small for Him to fix, just trust Him. He's still in the business of turning water to wine. He hasn't changed.
We ever not deigned to carry any of the burdens life throws at us, we are to cast (throw) them on Him and have His peace flood our minds and hearts!
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. Isa 63:9
Jesus Christ is the head of the Body of Christ, if one member of His body is afflicted, He is also afflicted.
He tenderly loves us. He is ever with us.
Remember the three Hebrew boys thrown in the fire? Daniel 3:23. If He didn't leave them then, He won't leave us too.
Throw your cares on Him and be amazed at what He will do in you and with you and through you despite the storms.
Lord, I am grateful for the gift of the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) who is ever with me. Am grateful I don't do life alone. Help me to always remember to throw my cares on you.
