"For God SO loved the world, that he gave his ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Jh 3:16

The whole gospel is hinged on Jh 3:16. Man fell and we got separated from God. We took on the nature of the devil and became open to the wrath of God. The devil rejoiced at his victory in the garden of Eden, thinking he had won the battle over man.

Our destiny was eternal death with the devil and his angels in hell fire... fire that burns FOREVER! Am thankful to God for saving me! I can't even stand a little burn on my body.

If you ever think God hasn't been good to you, watch a video of a burning person and see the pain and agony the person goes thru before dying and realize what God and your Father has saved you from!

The law was given to the children of Israel but that couldn't bring back the life and relationship between God and Man that was lost in the garden of Eden.

Jesus speaking to the law givers and keepers in His days " You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life." Jh 5:39-40

Life can only be found in a relationship with the Son.

The only sacrifice that could be paid to restore the relationship between God and man was the death of God's only Son- Jesus Christ.

"According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Heb 9:22 (Christian Standard Bible)

The blood of animals couldn't restore the lost relationship. Only the blood of His son could and He willingly gave His son for our salvation.

See how precious you and I are in the Father's sight!

Calvary was a beautiful exchange. The wrath we should have experienced because of our sin was poured out in full on an innocent man- the Son of God.

"God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." Eph 1:5

In other words, it greatly pleased God to put His ONLY beloved child on a cross to die so that you and I could be with Him now and forever.

Listen to the words of Prophet Isaiah "Yet it PLEASED the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand." Isa 53:10

His Only child was publicly disgraced, mocked, exposed to extreme cold and heat (he was naked on the cross), cried out in pain, died a criminal's death for something He didn't do just so you and I could be free, saved from the shackles of the wicked one and most importantly have a living relationship with Him as a Father with a child.

"I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting." Isaiah 50:6

"But many were amazed when they saw him. His face was so disfigured he seemed hardly human, and from his appearance, one would scarcely know he was a man." Isaiah 52:14

For a second imagine what the Father put His ONLY child through so that we could be His children. What a reckless love for us!

How many parents will be willing to give up their ONLY child or any of their children to save their worst enemy? We were God's worst enemy. In Apostle Paul's words, we were wicked and had the nature of Satan.

Apostle Paul puts it this way in Rom 5:6 " For when we were still helpless, Christ died for the wicked at the time that God chose.

Vs 7: "It is a difficult thing for someone to die for a righteous person. It may even be that someone might dare to die for a good person."

Vs 8: "But God has shown us how much he loves us--it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!" (Good News Translation).

Oh! How He loves us.

David had an understanding of God's love for us and he wrote " What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him?" Ps 8:4

The Father gave up His most prized possession to save you and I.

For the first time since God and Jesus existed (which have no beginning nor ending) they were separated when His Only child was hung on the cross and took our place.

Matt 27:45-46 "Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. Vs 46 "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

The Father forsook His ONLY child so that you and I will NEVER be forsaken.

What can beat His reckless love for you and I? NOTHING!!!

I AM TENDERLY LOVED AND VALUED BY MY HEAVENLY FATHER!

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I just came to say thank you for the great love with which you have loved me. I thank you for the gift of your wonderful Son-Jesus Christ. I am glad to be called your child.
